Commissions:
Guidelines, Prices, and terms of service
I am available for everything from reference sheets to pinups to full illustrations and anywhere in between as long as I have a clear idea of what the customer would like! In the past I've worked on commissioned images as small as icons and as big as full-color graphic novel spreads.
Interested in purchasing unique, custom artwork in digital form from me? The first step is to get in contact! Information on how to contact me is on the Contact page linked above. Once we're in touch, here's what you need to know:
SOME DO'S AND DON'TS:
- DO know what you want! It is easier for everybody involved if you already have a clear idea in mind of what you'd like. I'm fine with improvising and 'surprising you', but if there are specific design elements or details you definitely want in your picture, it's important to let me know right off the bat.
- DO give me reference images and/or detailed descriptions to work off of! Make sure they're easy to understand and straightforward so that I can give you something as accurate as possible.
- DO keep in touch! Please make sure I have ways to contact you if necessary.
- DO pay me in USD via Paypal! I don't accept other forms of payment unless agreed upon beforehand.
- Do NOT send me money before I have asked you for it!! I understand it's a nice gesture, but this is to avoid scenarios where someone pops up and goes "Hi! I sent you $40!! Here's what I want!" when I might not actually be available or willing to draw what they're asking for. When we have agreed on the price, I will send you an invoice via Paypal.
- Do NOT approach me for graphic sexual or explicitly fetishistic art. Dazlious Design is not available for 18+ commissions.
- Do NOT approach me for content that is hateful or abusive. Commission requests involving offensive stereotypes or caricatures of marginalized groups, glorification of hate groups and/or real-life predators and abusers, and needlessly edgy "shock value" art will be turned down without exception.
- Do NOT try to haggle me down or request extra components to the picture that we didn't initially agree on; changing the plan mid-process may result in additional charges. If you're on a budget, let me know in advance what you're willing to pay so that I can make an appropriate offer.
Now that that's taken care of, it's time to think about pricing!

PRICING
For basic CHARACTER pinups, consider the following:
For something bigger: $150.00 and up
A full-color illustration with a background, multiple characters, complex props, or any combination thereof starts at $150.00 and increases depending on difficulty and complexity.
A good rule of thumb is to think of the primary character as roughly the same price as one of the full-color pinups, and add value from there according to number of characters, complexity of background, etc.
OTHER NOTES:
- The images shown above are basic examples intended to give a general idea of what to expect while commissioning me, pricewise. If you feel your idea does not match up with any of the above categories (ex: a website banner, a character reference sheet, a comic, etc.), feel free to talk to me about it anyway and I'll happily quote a price for you!
- WIPs (works in progress) are available if requested. If your project involves a lot of specific detail, it's a good idea to work with me throughout the process to make sure everything looks the way you want! However, this can also make the process take longer overall, so choose wisely! Any edits asked for after the final piece is delivered will result in an additional charge.
- Edits requested significantly after the completion of a commission will not be considered. (Aka, please don't approach me weeks after the fact and go "Well, actually, can you make him purple instead of blue?").
- Upgrading a commission (ex: adding color to a previously-commissioned inked piece) is an available option for anyone who wishes to commission a polished piece but cannot afford the full cost all at once. There is no additional fee for upgrades-- only the difference between the original commission and the final stage (ex: $20 to add color to a $40 inked piece). Let me know if this is something you're interested in and I will gladly discuss options with you.
- The length of time it takes to complete a commission varies depending on complexity as well as the length of the queue ahead of you (once I have officially started working on your piece, completion time usually ranges between 1-2 weeks-- but it may take quite awhile to get there, so please be patient!). I will always be reachable by Email, so you are welcome to contact me at any time to check on your current placing in the queue.
- Payment is taken up-front once we have agreed on a price. If you wish to cancel your commission before I have officially started working on it, you will be refunded in full. Cancellations after work has begun on your commission will not be refunded.
- When you commission me, you are purchasing a unique, custom piece of art in digital form. You will be sent two versions of the file: one resized for posting, and one at full resolution. While I do not currently provide physical prints of your commission, you are welcome to use the full-res file to get it printed yourself!
- I retain the right to post and display the commissioned artwork (including WIPs) anywhere and anytime as an example of my work. However, if you wish to remain anonymous concerning any public uploads, OR if you would like me to limit the audience of your artwork exclusively to my patrons at Patreon, I am happy to accommodate you.
- You have the right to make minor edits to the image as long as you do not remove or crop out my signature, as well as the right to post the image, with credit, wherever you choose.
- You may not profit off of my artwork in any way*. If you later wish to sell the character you have commissioned artwork of, my work should be included for no more than the original cost of the commission. (*If the commission is for a larger project intended for publication, we can discuss royalties or additional fees for full rights to the image(s).)
- This information may be subject to updates and revisions in the future. Thank you for your understanding!
